Alberto Olivero Portfolio Site

The Problem

Alberto arrived with loose ideas and references rather than a defined brief. That had to become a site that felt like his, without the interface competing with the work it exists to show.

The Solution

A Next.js portfolio that navigates simply and loads fast, with restrained animations and filters for moving through the projects, visually tied to his personal brand.

Timeline

Intermittent, March–July 2026

My Role

Full-Stack Developer · Information Architecture

A commission from a designer friend. Alberto brought his ideas and the visual direction; the site's structure and the build were mine.

Site and portfolio for an independent graphic designer, built from his own ideas: simple navigation, personality in the visuals, and the work always up front.

The real problem

Alberto is a graphic designer and he came with ideas, not with a brief. He asked for help building his site, and what I brought was channelling them: working out what belonged, what did not, and in what shape.

What came out is deliberately simple to navigate. The site's personality lives in the visuals, tied to his personal brand, rather than in the structure, which gets out of the way so the work is what you see.

It carries restrained animations and filters for moving through the projects. It is built in Next.js with the App Router, React, TypeScript and Tailwind, and you feel it in use: it loads and moves fast. The mobile Lighthouse audit scores 100 on performance and 100 on accessibility.
